Mighty No. 9 creator Keiji Inafune showed off a video of him playing an early alpha build of the game as part of his speech at D.I.C.E. 2014.

The gameplay was captured on January 20, 2014 and demonstrates simple functions like shooting, jumping, and dashing. A later portion of the video demonstrates various lighting techniques and textures that planned to be implemented. Obviously the game is still in the very early stages of development, but it’s nice to see how things have come along since its Kickstarter campaign ended.

Mighty No. 9 became one of the most successful video game Kickstarter campaigns, raising more than $4 million. The game is estimated to be released in 2015.
